Scapegoat Studio - But For Us Fights the Valiant One

$ 185.00

The original painting, "But For Us Fights the Valiant One," was created by Jonathan Mayer in 2017 for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The theme of the Resurrected Christ slaying Satan (represented as the dragon from Revelation 12) is drawn from Lucas Cranach's altarpiece at Weimar—an important piece of Reformation art. The title of the work is drawn from the second verse of Martin Luther's Reformation battle hymn—"A Mighty Fortress is Our God."

Canvas prints are made on primed cotton duck canvas, and come with extra material around the edges if mounting to a wooden stretcher. Canvas prints ship rolled in a tube
